Meet Your life Coach

I’m Nancy, and I’m thrilled to be your Life Scout. With a diverse background in nutrition, massage therapy, park ranger work, yoga, and Pilates, I’ve had the privilege of empowering people through movement.
But my journey hasn’t always been smooth. For years, I struggled with body image challenges and eating disorders. I’ve been there, feeling lost and trapped by a distorted perception of myself.
Through my own experiences and personal growth, I’ve learned that true empowerment lies in making choices that align with our values and goals, regardless of what we see in the mirror. As a life coach, I’m passionate about helping others navigate their own paths toward fullness, peace, and self-acceptance.

Health and Life Coaching are client-centered programs designed to empower individuals in achieving their personal, professional, and spiritual goals. Coaches serve as supportive partners, providing guidance and accountability to help clients navigate challenges, overcome obstacles, and create a fulfilling life.

* Health Coaching primarily focuses on improving physical well-being by guiding clients in areas such as:

* Nutrition and dietary habits

* Exercise and physical activity

* Sleep hygiene

* Stress management techniques

* Life Coaching primarily focuses on personal and professional development, assisting clients with:

* Career exploration and advancement

* Relationship building and improvement

* Setting and achieving personal goals

* Identifying and developing strengths

* Enhancing self-awareness and self-confidence

While these areas of focus may appear distinct, they are interconnected. Optimal physical health significantly impacts overall well-being, contributing to increased energy, reduced stress, and improved cognitive function, all of which are crucial for achieving personal and professional goals. Conversely, pursuing meaningful personal and professional goals can enhance motivation and provide the drive necessary for maintaining healthy lifestyle habits. This interconnectedness underscores the value of an integrated approach, where health and life coaching strategies can complement each other to support holistic well-being and empower individuals to live their best lives.

Shared Benefits:
* Empowerment: Health and Life Coaching empowers individuals to take control of their lives and make positive changes.
* Personalized Support: Coaches provide personalized guidance and support tailored to individual needs and goals.
* Accountability: Coaches help clients stay accountable for their commitments and make consistent progress.
* Motivation: Coaches provide ongoing motivation and encouragement to keep moving forward.
* Skill Development: Coaches help clients develop valuable life skills such as           self-reflection, goal setting, and problem-solving.

Here's a breakdown of the key differences between life coaching and therapy:

   Focus:

* Life Coaching: Focuses on future goals and helping clients create actionable plans to achieve them.

* Therapy: Focuses on the past and present, helping clients understand and heal from emotional or mental health issues.

  Approach:

* Life Coaching: Empowers clients to take control of their lives and make positive changes.

* Therapy: Provides a safe space for clients to explore their thoughts and feelings, often through a deeper dive into their past experiences.

Goals:

* Life Coaching: Aims to help clients achieve specific goals and improve their overall well-being.

* Therapy: Aims to help clients overcome mental and emotional challenges and improve their mental health.

   When to Choose Which:

* Life Coaching: Consider life coaching if you're looking for guidance and support in setting and achieving goals, improving your work-life balance, or making career transitions.

* Therapy: Consider therapy if you're struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, or other mental health concerns.

  Important Note:

* Life coaches are not qualified to diagnose or treat mental health conditions.

* If you're experiencing significant mental health challenges, it's important to seek help from a licensed mental health professional.

   Additional Considerations:

* Some people find that both life coaching and therapy can be beneficial in different ways.

* It's important to choose a life coach or therapist who is qualified and experienced and who you feel comfortable with.

Let me know if you'd like to explore this topic further!

I am a graduate of The Health Coach Institute. This program takes six months to year to complete and is approved and accredited by the following International Coaching Organizations:

CCE: Continuing Coach Education

HCA: Health Coach Alliance

ICF: International Coaching Federation

FHT: Federation of Holistic Therapists

In addition to that, I hold a Bachelor of Science in Food Science& Nutrition.

I also have over 20 years experience as a Pilates & Yoga instructor.

How do you conduct your sessions?

I mostly do private and group sessions on Zoom. I can also do In Person if you are local.

Are private sessions more valuable than group sessions?

Not particularly. If you need a coach for accountability purposes, then a group may be the way to go as you will also be with a transformation buddy. However, if you do not thrive in a group setting and do not easily share, then private sessions are the way to go.

How long are the sessions?

Anywhere from 45-60mins in a  private session and for group sessions that depends on the size; a large group can be as long as 90mins and smaller groups start at 60mins.

How many sessions do you recommend?

My signature transformation program is designed to get optimal results in 12 sessions. I can be booked for talks or workshops as well.

Is there a cancellation policy?

I do not refund if you don’t show up or don’t do the work and say you have no results. I do offer a refund within the first 2 sessions if we do not vibe with one another. I also refund or put on hold for emergency situations.

How do I get in touch with you?

You can tap on the contact me signpost and either email or call to book a discovery call.

What is a discovery call?

This is a 45 -60min call where we get to know one another and see if this is a good fit.

What is your coaching style?

I like to be the coach my client needs. But I do honor supportive and truthful communication, and I promise to be fully present and actively listen to you. I am also a big believer in humor. This the type of question that is really best answered with a discovery call.

Do you have success stories?

Yes, click on the signpost where it says testimonials and you can read some. Also I am a living breathing success story.

What I loved about working with Nancy: Learning new things! I thought I already knew it all, but I didn’t! I realized how outside distractions play a part in my meal time. I learned to be more thoughtful while eating - and to listen to my body and be kinder to myself. That everything I do counts, even if it’s not as much as I wanted to get done. Focusing on breathing to relieve stressful thoughts has been very helpful as well. Nancy is a great coach and cheerleader! But she also delivered hard truths that I needed to hear. I truly appreciated my time with her and her kind spirit!

Working with Nancy was a great experience, and I learned valuable skills about how to approach my goals & always having her there for accountability is so important in establishing new habits. Every week, having to come in with 'things that went well', allowed me to realize that I don't always acknowledge my successes, and I downplay my accomplishments. Even if it's a small achievement, recognizing it really gave me a way to see progress in my life or towards my goals. I learned about my own tendency to sabotage myself & I really appreciated the realization and the guidance around unlearning the stories other people gave you. I feel like I have new tools to approach my goals, which will be invaluable going forward.

“Working with Nancy was a transformative experience. She helped me reevaluate my approach to goal setting and self-care, fostering a healthier relationship with both. Her program introduced me to powerful visualization techniques that ignited my motivation and inspired tangible action steps. Nancy’s intuitive guidance and ability to focus my attention were instrumental in my progress. I wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone seeking personal growth and fulfillment.”

Before coaching with Nancy, I was conflicted about spending little time on my art. Nancy helped me see the importance of prioritizing creative expression and incorporating it into my daily schedule. As a result I felt a lot more satisfied at my job. The most significant results I’ve experienced from coaching with Nancy are believing in what has meaning to me and feeling more inspired. What I loved most about coaching with Nancy is her actionoriented approach, keen awareness and positive energy.

I wanted to take a moment to express my sincere gratitude for Nancy’s unwavering support throughout my journey. Her guidance has been invaluable, and I've made significant strides thanks to the tools I acquired from her expertise. A few years ago, when I was struggling with various health issues, she helped me develop healthier habits for eating, managing stress, and maintaining my lifestyle. The strategies we worked on together have had a lasting positive impact on my overall well-being. More recently, when I faced challenges in my marriage, her compassionate and humorous approach was exactly what I needed to navigate my thoughts and emotions, providing much-needed perspective and understanding. I wholeheartedly recommend Nancy to anyone seeking guidance and support. Her expertise and empathy have made a tremendous difference in my life.

Nancy is amazing! She is upbeat, energetic, enthusiastic and very encouraging!. Before coaching with Nancy, I really struggled with self doubt and overwhelm. She helped me reconnect with my own sense of power and purpose. Some of the significant benefits I achieved in coaching with Nancy are: 1. To believe in myself. I do have the ability to do hard things! 2. Clarity in what I want to achieve. 3. Support and accountability in doing the things I need to do to achieve my goals. I loved Nancy's "can do" approach to things, her lack of judgment and her belief in everyone's ability to live a life of empowerment and purpose. Do yourself a favor, and allow this amazing coach guide you to an empowered life!

I can't recommend Nancy highly enough. I've known her for many years. She's incredibly bright, compassionate, thoughtful, and practical. Most importantly she's a great active listener with deep knowledge of managing and comprehending the mind/body connection, and knows how to tailor a plan and program to the realities of a client's situation rather than a one size fits all approach. I've been a lawyer counseling clients for several decades, so have an understanding of what it takes to advise and coach individuals and tell them what they need to hear rather than what they want to hear. I truly can't think of anyone more qualified than Nancy to serve as a life coach and trusted advisor. (She's also got a wicked good sense of humor).
